NBA STAT TRAK CREATES MOTION SICKNESS, AND PROMOTES GAMBLING TO KIDS
Just like Joe Camel used to sell tobacco to kids...

Re: "Stat Trak" AI graphics on the NBA / Sixers game broadcasts:
1. The graphics are distracting, and in addition are unpleasant to look at. The repellant nature of Stat Trak’s flickering pixelated image quality is exacerbated by motion sickness from moving text.
2. We, the audience, generally know who the players are.
We can see them on the TV already, and their shirts have numbers on the front and back that match the size of the numbers on Stat Trak's redundant AI moving graphics. YOU ARE DRIVING VIEWERS WITH IQ ABOVE 70 AWAY.
The broadcasts already also feature an accompanying audio track + closed captions with announcers telling us who has the ball.
IN SUMMARY:
It’s not worth having to look at nauseating and crass moving graphics for the entire game to fill in the occasional brief moments where we're wondering who has the ball because we briefly zoned out. Who cares.
While attempts to experiment with the broadcast to continually evolve with the audience and tech are appreciated, this one has the look and stink of when the NHL had “FoxTrax”. Maybe they still do? I stopped following the NHL years ago partially because watching it with a glowing puck shamed me for being a grown adult and caring about something this childish and stupid, like pro sports. Please don’t do that to Sixers (or any NBA) broadcasts.
Please STOP inserting "Stat Trak" AI moving graphics into the actual game in the main broadcast.
This is not 2K.
Suggestion, if you’ve invested enough in Stat Trak that you can’t justify throwing it away to your corporate overlords:
1. If we have to keep it, put Stat Trak in a stationary spot with the bottom right scoreboard graphic.
2. And please, I am begging you, remove the pointless moving circle around the player’s feet. This feature robs any remaining dignity the league and broadcast still have after covering itself in gambling advertising, MAKING THE BROADCASTS QUESTIONABLE MORALLY TO SHOW TO CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH INTELLECTUAL DISABILITIES (I wish I was kidding lol), so stop trying to appeal to them with Stat Trak.
It's one thing for podcasts or whatever programming pointed at adults to advertise gambling, but on Sixers and NBA main broadcasts, similar to Joe Camel advertising tobacco to kids? Honestly you should be ashamed of yourselves. That reminds me, if I continue to see Stat Trak on the main broadcasts (do whatever you want on alternate broadcasts), I will be contacting senators and congress about this point and you might be surprised how difficult I will make this.
You might as well have Franklin the Sixers dog mascot wear gambling ads at this point, and draw kids into gambling "games" on the gambling app advertisers.
I shouldn't give you ideas.
Watching Sixers games, and NBA games, is an important part of a lot of people’s emotional lives (yes, I am projecting, but I think I’m not alone on this), and Stat Trak AI moving graphics on broadcasts inflicting nausea and general discomfort in the audience will make the city of Philadelphia even grouchier.
We already have people killing each other over parking spots. Imagine the lawless chaos that continued Sixers broadcasts with Stat Trak in its current form might unleash. Please act with your conscience and save the city.
Thank you,
Wednesday Tinasky
